DWP publishes final guidance on deferral of dashboard connection

On the same day as the Dashboard Regulations came into force, December 12, 2022, the DWP published finalised guidance for trustees or managers of relevant occupational pension schemes on applying for a deferral of their staging deadline.

- As at December 12, 2022, there was an ongoing data transfer to a new administrator, or a contract was in place for re-tender of scheme administration at the same date.
- It would be disproportionately burdensome or would put member data at risk to comply with the original connection deadline.
The DWP has made no significant changes to the draft version, but the final version reflects the coming into force of the Regulations on December 12, 2022. Any schemes that have made provisional applications for deferral before the Regulations came into force will be treated in the same way as applications made on or after December 12. Schemes should note that the 12-month window for applying for a deferral runs from December 12, 2022 in all cases.
