Our Toronto and Montreal offices advised the minority shareholder of JAM Industries on the acquisition by DCC Technology Limited of JAM Group of Companies comprised of JAM Industries Ltd., JAM International Ltd. and their subsidiaries (“JAM”), North America's largest value-added distributor of musical instruments, professional audio and consumer electronics products, for an initial enterprise value of US$170m. The transaction reached financial close on September 28th, 2018.

DCC Technology provides a broad range of consumer and business technology products and services across the consumer, B2B and enterprise markets spanning 16 countries, including the UK, US, Canada, Ireland, France, Sweden and the United Arab Emirates.

The transaction strengthens DCC’s North American geographic presence and enhances the company’s relationships with new and existing suppliers and customers while providing JAM with access to global markets.

JAM has headquarters in Montreal, Canada with sales and logistic operations across the US and Canada, employing approximately 600 people. As the leading distributor and supply chain service provider in its sector, it also offers a comprehensive range of value-added services to its vendor partners and customers.
