Nicole McKenzie is a restructuring and insolvency lawyer based in London.  Nicole joined the firm in Sydney in 2019 and moved to London in 2022.

Nicole has wide ranging experience advising on restructuring and insolvency matters, having completed the ARITA Advanced Certification in restructuring and insolvency in 2020. Nicole advises office-holders, debtors, creditors, directors, regulators and other stakeholders on a range of complex contentious and non-contentious insolvency and restructuring matters, including syndicated and bilateral restructuring transactions, administrations and liquidations across a number of key industry sectors. Her practice focuses primarily on formal and cross-border insolvency matters and she commonly advises on:

·       matters arising in UK and international insolvency proceedings;

·       contingency planning and security enforcement;

·       directors' duties, wrongful trading and the disqualification of directors;

·       office-holder investigations and claims;

·       security and other proprietary interests (including the establishment of trust arrangements);

·       close-out netting and set-off issues;

·       specialist insolvency regimes, including investment bank special administration;

·       distressed M&A;

·       distressed loan sales; and

·       restoration applications.

Nicole also has experience dealing with regulatory and compliance issues and regulatory investigations and has provided legal advice to major banks and public companies on a variety of issues including professional standards, remediation projects and risk advisory. Nicole also acts on general banking and finance matters for major banks and financial institutions.
