Biography

Mathew Grainger practises corporate and commercial law, with a focus on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and securities. Mathew works on both cross-border and Canadian deals concerning debt and equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, with particular emphasis on regulatory filings and public company disclosures.

Mathew has acted for the following clients:

  • Represented a lithium exploration and development company in its $16.5 million flow-through unit financing. 
  • Represented a private potash company in its $10 million private issuance of flow-through shares.
  • Acted for an independent power generation company in its public offering of $350 million aggregate principal amount of subordinated notes under a base shelf prospectus, as supplemented by a prospectus supplement
  • Represented a resource company in its $13 million business combination.
  • Acted as counsel in a reverse take-over and a concurrent brokered private placement of subscription receipts.
