Work-Life Balance: Supporting families with leading parental leave policy
Canada | Press release - Firm | May 2023
Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has introduced its new parental leave policy that provides employees with up to 26 weeks of firm-paid top-up on Employment Insurance/QPIP equalling 100% of employees’ base salary. The new policy applies to all Canadian permanent staff, regardless of how families are formed, extending benefits to fathers as well as adoptive and non-birth-giving parents.
Our parental leave policy leads the industry by extending top-up benefits from 18 to 26 weeks. The policy was developed in consultation with and based on recommendations made by women at the firm to advance initiatives that support gender equity. It is part of a broader initiative that examined work allocation and career progression.
This policy invests in our people and supports them during a critical time in their lives as their families grow. It facilitates a work-life balance and supports the well-being of our lawyers and business services professionals.
