International Financial Law Review names two lawyers as 2022 Rising Stars

The International Financial Law Review (IFLR) announced its Rising Stars for the 2022 Americas Awards, recognizing Norton Rose Fulbright’s Vancouver-based lawyers Michael Manhas for his work on the environment practice and Kaitlin Smiley for shipping and maritime.

The Rising Stars Awards recognize the outstanding work done by the region's emerging leaders. These individuals are associates, of counsel and new partners who have been rising to prominence within their key practices. 

Michael is a Partner with a focus on litigation, administrative law, and regulatory matters relating to the environment, energy, natural resources, economic regulation, and Indigenous law. Michael regularly represents clients before courts in British Columbia and Alberta, and has extensive experience in administrative proceedings before tribunals.

Kaitlin is an Of Counsel with a focus on complex civil and commercial litigation, including shareholder disputes, oppression claims, corporate disputes, negligence and professional liability, class actions, product liability, and securities litigation. Kaitlin has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as the Canadian Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal.
