Vivian Kung
Biography
Vivian Kung’s practice focuses on power, infrastructure/construction and mergers and acquisitions. She is regularly engaged on major project work throughout Canada, including in the social infrastructure, health care, transportation and renewable energy sectors. She also leads M&A transactions in complex regulated industries and has experience working with Japan-based clients on their investments with any Canadian aspect.
Vivian worked as senior legal counsel with a construction industry leader, acquiring invaluable in-house experience as the responsible lawyer on complex domestic and international projects.
Vivian also clerked at the British Columbia Court of Appeal, where she gained experience in corporate/commercial disputes in British Columbia's highest court.

- A renewable energy company on its acquisitions of projects (hydro and wind) throughout Canada and the USA.
- A Japanese trading house on its acquisition of an interest in a Canadian wind and solar portfolio.
Mergers and acquisitions
- A global investor on its acquisition of a mortgage lender.
- A global data center and colocation provider on its acquisition of 25 data-centre facilities across Canada.
- A healthcare technology company on a US$200-million purchase.
- A digital wholesale marketplace on a C$130-million acquisition.
Infrastructure
- One of the consortium members of the successful proponent in achieving financial close on a C$8.25-billion light rail transit project.
- Lenders in achieving financial close on a C$443-million transportation project.
- A municipal authority on the design, build, finance and maintain of a biosolids treatment plant.
