On April 15, 2021, Norton Rose Fulbright participated in the creation of The Alliance for Asian American Justice (The Alliance), a national pro bono initiative committed to standing up for victims and preventing future acts of anti-Asian hate. A charter member of this organization, we are joined by 40 other law firms and several general counsel to support this effort.

Los Angeles partner Brian Sun, who serves on the Board of Directors of The Alliance and is the past president of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), said:

“The increase in verbal and physical assaults on Asian Americans in our country over the past year is both alarming and disturbing. The Alliance is committed to helping these victims of discrimination and racism, as we believe that united together we can make meaningful change.”

The newly-created group aims to aid victims find access to legal representation and overcome barriers often hindering people from obtaining assistance when they are the subject of hate crimes.

Additionally, The Alliance will work with numerous advocacy organizations, including Asian Americans Advancing Justice, the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund and NAPABA, to help with the intake of pro bono matters.
