Biography

Adrian Armstrong is an associate in our business law group with a practice focusing on construction and infrastructure, as well as general commercial matters. He assists senior counsel in all aspects of infrastructure projects, including project planning, drafting agreements, procurement and construction.

He was called to the bar in 2020, and joined the firm after articling and working as an associate at a Vancouver construction litigation boutique. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Adrian gained construction industry experience working as a mechanical engineer providing design services to healthcare and institutional clients in British Columbia and Alberta. He is registered as a professional engineer (non-practising) in British Columbia.

Adrian has been involved in the following matters:

  • Belleville Terminal Replacement Project - Advised the Province of British Columbia on a multiphase project, including a temporary terminal (design-bid-build) and new terminal procurement (design-build)
  • FortisBC Facilities Construction Project, a component of the Eagle Mountain - Woodfibre Gas Pipeline Project
  • Advised a BC-based utility provider on a tenant improvement project completed through a CCDC-5B construction-manager-at-risk delivery model
  • Advised a BC-based infrastructure manufacturer regarding agreements to supply utility poles to an Alberta utility supplier
  • Advised a BC-based retailer on construction agreements for tenant improvement and renovation projects in retail stores in standalone and mall locations
  • Advised several BC Health Authorities regarding long-term care centre projects including procurement of architectural services and construction agreements for projects delivered through construction-manager-at-risk delivery models
  • Advised a geotextile provider regarding various supply and construction agreements
