Norton Rose Fulbright among Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for third consecutive year

Norton Rose Fulbright’s efforts towards cultivating a diverse and inclusive workplace have been recognized for the third year running by Mediacorp Canada Inc., which ranked the global law firm among Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for 2020.

Norton Rose Fulbright is dedicated to further advancing diversity within the firm—as well as within the legal profession—and as such, works at using an integrated, inclusive approach in all aspects of its business and community activities.

In recent years, Norton Rose Fulbright has taken a number of actions to help our people flourish. The firm has established:

  • An Indigenous Relations Network dedicated to promoting and furthering reconciliation through learning and dialogue.
  • A national Pride Network for LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies in each of our six Canadian offices.
  • A women’s network to enhance professional development and business and networking opportunities.
  • A leadership program to support high-potential female associates aspiring to partnership.
  • Breathe, a global employee network focused on mental health
  • Unconscious bias training nationwide
  • The collection of demographic data during the recruitment process to test for unconscious bias.
  • An annual campaign to confidently and inclusively guide interactions with colleagues or clients with disabilities.

Committed to transparency and accountability, the firm has also been making its diversity data available publicly for the past two years.

Norton Rose Fulbright has made significant progress towards achieving its gender targets in Canada, increasing the number of women on the Management Committee to 46%. Women also represent 26% of the partnership and 65% of the senior leadership in the firm’s business services.
